- 2 cups flour
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 14 cup shortening
- 1 cup water
Directions

1Combine flour, salt, and baking powder.

2Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or knives.

3Add water.

4Knead about a dozen times on floured surface.

5Flatten in a circle to 1/2 thickness.

6Melt 2 tablespoons shortening in a frying pan.

7When shortening is hot, add dough and fry until browned.

8Slide bannock onto a clean towel or rag.

9Add another 2 tablespoons more shortening.

10Flip the bannock onto the pan and cook the other side.
