- 2 to 3 lb. fryer, cut in 2-inch pieces
- 1 1/2 c. shoyu sauce
- 3 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar or to taste
- salt to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- fresh ginger root (about 2 inches long), crushed
- flour
- Crisco or Wesson oil
Directions

1Cut chicken into 2-inch pieces.

2Mix shoyu, water, sugar, salt, garlic and ginger together (always remember that shoyu sauce is very salty).

3Marinate chicken for at least 4 hours or overnight.

4Roll chicken in flour and fry in hot oil, then put in oven for doneness for about 1/2 hour.

5Serve either cold or hot.
