Ingredients

  • 1 round steak (about 2 lb.), cut in 5 or 6 pieces
  • 3/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped (if desired)
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder (if desired)

Directions

    Brown steak in large heavy frying pan about 1 minute on each side.

    Combine all other ingredients.

    Pour over steak pieces and simmer until steak is tender, about 2 hours.

    Cook on high for a few minutes if sauce is not thick enough.

    Serves 3 to 4.
