  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp. drippings
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery (optional)
  • salt and red pepper to season
  • 1 lb. franks

Directions

    Brown onion in drippings.

    Add vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, water, celery and seasoning.

    Simmer sauce for 30 minutes.

    Arrange franks in a shallow pan.

    Pour barbecue sauce over and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
