Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 3 to 5 Tbsp. chili powder
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp. water
- cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
Directions

1In a 4 to 5-quart Dutch oven, brown beef.

2Add onions and garlic; cook until onions are transparent.

3Add herbs, salt, tomatoes, tomato sauce and chili powder.

4Simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

5Blend flour and water and add to mixture. Stir well and cook 20 minutes.

6Add beans.

7Add cayenne pepper if hot chili is desired.

8Cook 10 minutes.

9Serves 6 to 8.
