Basic Cream Cheese Pound Cake

  • 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

    Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

    Stir in flour, salt and vanilla.

    Spoon into greased tube pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done. Yield:
