Basic Crockpot Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 each onions chopped
  • 3 each garlic cloves less or more to taste
  • 1 pound beans, dried soaked 4 hours or overnight
  • 2 each bay leaves
  • 1 x water to cover

Directions

    Put in crockpot and cook about 4 to 6 hours on high or overnight on low.

    Beans should be soft (small white beans take longest, pinto beans shorter) Add spices, veggies, etc.

    ---A--- 1 teaspoons dried cumin 1 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper 1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce chili peppers, chopped green pepper, chopped can tomatoes, chopped frozen corn (good with black beans) 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke tastes good added ---B--- 1 teaspoon cumin 1 can green chilis, chopped 1 tablespoon soy sauce (good with white beans).

    ---C--- 1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1/4 cup molasses 1/4 teaspoons cayenne 1/2 teaspoons dried mustard, (good with pinto or black eyed peas)
