Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt; cool.

3Add 1 1/2 cups flour; beat well.

4Beat in yeast and egg.

5Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well.

6Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise to double bulk.

7(Except Refrigerator Rolls, do not let rise.)

8Turn out on floured board and shape as desired.

9Cover to rise.

10Bake in greased pan at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
