- 2 pkg. quick dry yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 7 c. flour
Directions

1Combine the yeast and water and let it stand for a few minutes.

2Cream the butter, sugar and salt.

3Add the beaten eggs and juice from the half lemon.

4Add the milk to the softened yeast and combine with 3 cups flour, beating until smooth.

5Then mix this into the creamed mixture, adding enough more flour to make a medium dough.

6Knead the dough on a floured board until smooth. Raise until doubled in a greased, covered bowl.

7Shape as desired. Let rise again.

8Bake.

9After cooling, frost with icing, if desired.
