- 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 3 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. milk, add 1 egg to make 1/2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
Directions

1Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and undissolved dry yeast in a large bowl.

2Combine water, milk and margarine in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until warm.

3Add egg to liquid mixture.

4Add dry ingredients; mix.

5Add rest of flour (3 1/2 to 4 1/2 cups), make a soft, smooth dough by kneading.

6Put in a greased bowl (turn to have greased side on top).

7Cover; let rise until doubled (1 hour).
