Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Add shortening, sugar and salt.

3Mix to dissolve. Set aside to cool.

4Dissolve yeast with warm water.

5Beat egg and add to yeast mixture.

6Add milk mixture and flour.

7(You want dough to be stiff enough to work, but not too stiff.)

8Set aside for approximately 1 hour to rise.

10Leave in bowl for first rising.

11After mixture has doubled in bulk, turn out on a floured surface and knead about 5 to 10 minutes, adding flour if necessary. Divide dough in half and shape into the type rolls you want.
