- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Dissolve dry yeast in lukewarm water according to directions on package.

2Add milk, which has been cooled to lukewarm, sugar and salt.

3Allow to stand 5 minutes.

4Add butter or margarine and egg; mix well.

5Stir in flour and beat with spoon until dough forms a ball and follows spoon around the bowl.

6Brush top of dough with melted butter.

7Cover with wax paper or towel.

8Let rise to double in bulk.

9Turn out on floured board and knead.

10Shape or cut; let rise in biscuit pan.

11Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
