  • 1-1/2 C sifted flour
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 C softened butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 lemon peel, grated
  • Pastry cream flavored with rum or black cherry preserves (recipe follows)
  • 1 beaten egg

Directions

    Put the flour in a large bowl.

    Make a hole in middle and place sugar, salt, butter, egg yolks, baking powder and lemon peel into the hole.

    Use your hands to work everything together into a dough.
