- 3 1/4 c. all-purpose or bread flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast (1 Tbsp.)
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 egg
Directions

1In large bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and dry yeast.

2Heat milk and butter until very warm.

3Add to dry ingredients along with egg.

4Beat with a mixer about 2 minutes.

5By hand, stir in remaining 2 cups flour to form a stiff batter.

6Cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, 6 to 12 hours.

7Stir down batter.

8Spoon into greased muffin cups, filling each about 1/2 full.

9Cover and let rise until doubled.

10Bake in preheated 400° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
