- 1 c. navy beans
- 1 qt. water
- 4 slices bacon, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. potatoes, diced
- 1 c. celery, diced
- 1 (1 lb.) can stewed tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. milk
Directions

1Combine beans and water in large kettle; bring to boil and cook 2 minutes.

2Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour.

3Saute bacon and onion until lightly browned.

4Add with fat to beans and simmer 1 hour.

5Add next 5 ingredients and simmer another 30 minutes.

6Gradually add milk to flour, then add to soup.

7Bring to gentle boil.
