- 1 lb. dry navy beans
- 2 1/2 qt. water
- 3/4 c. celery, diced
- 3/4 c. carrots, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 meaty ham bone or ham hock
- 1/2 c. catsup
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Wash and sort beans.

2Combine beans and water in a large saucepan.

3Add remaining ingredients.

4Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 to 4 hours or until beans reach desired tenderness.

5Add additional water if needed.
