Bean Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 ham bone or leftover ham
  • 3 cans Great Northern white beans or navy beans (dried beans may be used)
  • 2 peeled and diced potatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 carrots, cut in bite size pieces
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Cook carrots, potatoes, onion and celery until tender.

    Add ham bone and beans (if dried beans are used, cook as usual before adding other ingredients).

    Simmer for 1 hour.

    Water may be added if soup is too thick.

    This can be cooked in the crock-pot. Put everything in crock-pot; let cook for 5 or 6 hours.

    Serve with corn bread.
