Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. navy beans
  • ham bone or pieces of ham
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 to 4 stalks celery, diced
  • 6 carrots, grated or chopped
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 qt. water (to start)

Directions

    Wash beans and soak overnight.

    Put beans in large pot; add water and cook about 1 hour.

    Add ham, onion, celery, carrots and soup; salt and pepper to taste.

    Add more water if necessary. Continue cooking until beans are tender.
