Bean Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Great Northern beans
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 lb. ham, diced
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

    Wash and soak beans overnight; drain.

    Cover with water and bring to a boil.

    Boil 30 minutes.

    Drain and add water again to make 8 quart pot about 3/4 full.

    Add onions and ham.

    Cook slowly at least two hours.

    Season with salt and pepper.
  8. 8
    Mash some of the beans before serving.
