Ingredients

  • 2 c. navy beans
  • 1 ham bone
  • 3 qt. water
  • 2 c. celery, diced
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 4 ripe tomatoes or 1 can
  • 1 c. potatoes
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Soak beans overnight and drain in a.m.

    Pour beans in saucepan.
  3. 3
    Add ham bone and water.
  4. 4
    Cook slowly until beans are soft.

    Add vegetables and cook until done.

    Put through sieve. Season to taste and add minced parsley.

    Serve very hot with bread fingers.
