  • green, purple, or yellow green beans or runners
  • butter
  • Parmesan

Directions

    Trim the beans (I suggest a good handful per person), then boil them in deep, salted water or steam over boiling water.

    Have ready some almost-melted butter and some grated cheese.

    As you lift the beans from the water, toss them in the butter and cheese.
