- 1 1/2 lb. navy beans
- 1 small pkg. ham hock (aka pig knuckles)
- 5 qt. water
Directions

1Pick through beans to remove bad or split ones and then wash them.

2Put on the cook pot and add 5 quarts of water.

3Add beans and ham hocks and cook on medium for 3 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
-
4When water turns milky or beans thicken, dish is ready to serve.
