- 2 lb. top or bottom round beef, cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 c. burgundy wine
- 2 c. beef stock or consomme
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 tsp. marjoram
- pepper to taste
- 2 small cans button mushrooms
Directions

1In a medium Dutch oven, brown meat in small amount of oil and when almost brown add onion and saute until onion is golden.

2Add wine, beef broth and seasonings.

3Simmer very slowly (2 1/2 hours) with cover on.

4Add mushrooms and thicken with water and flour. Serve over buttered noodles.
