- 4 slices bacon, cut up
- 2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch cubes)
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram leaves
- 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 c. Burgundy
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
Directions

1Cook bacon in Dutch oven until crisp, then remove.

2Shake steak with flour and brown in bacon drippings.

3Add bacon, salt, marjoram, thyme, pepper, onion, garlic, bouillon and wine.

4Heat to boiling, then cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

5Add mushrooms and simmer 10 minutes.

6Serve with crusty rolls for dunking.
