  • 1 1/2 lb. stewing beef, in cubes
  • 1 c. Burgundy or red wine
  • 2 cans consomme soup
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 4 carrots (whole)

Directions

    Combine all, except beef and carrots.

    Stir.

    Mixture will be lumpy.

    Add beef and carrots.

    Cook in covered casserole dish at 300° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until beef is tender.

    Serve with white rice.
