- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 4 tsp. fat
- 4 Tbsp. onions, chopped fine
- 1 1/3 c. celery, thinly sliced
- 1 1/3 c. Chinese vegetables
- 2 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. cold water
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 c. rice, cooked
Directions

1Brown meat; drain off fat.

2Measure fat into pan; brown onion. Add celery, Chinese vegetables, hot water, salt and soy sauce. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

3Combine cornstarch with cold water; add to mixture.

4Cook until thickened, stirring continuously.

5Serve 3/4 cup over 1/2 cup rice per serving.

6Yield: 4 servings. Carbohydrate 39 g, protein 18 g, fat 12 g, calories 336.
