Beef Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (6 oz.) no-salt added tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup low sodium catsup
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. basil

Directions

    Cook macaroni according to pkg. directions, omitting salt. Drain and set aside.

    Brown beef with mushrooms, onion and garlic. Drain.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Simmer gently, about 15 minutes.

    Add cooked, drained macaroni.

    Simmer 5 minutes. Serve.
