- 3 lb. flank or round steak, cut 1/2-inch thick
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. coarse ground pepper
- garlic powder to taste
Directions

1Cut meat in 3/4-inch wide strips with grain.

2Dissolve salt in warm water and add remaining ingredients.

3Soak meat in mixture for about 2 hours, turning frequently so each piece is drenched. Place strips on paper towels for a few minutes.

4Place on oven rack.

5Cook at 120° to 130° for 8 to 9 hours with oven door slightly cracked open.

6After cooking, turn off heat, open oven door and let air dry for 8 hours more.

7Package in bags or jars.
