  • 3 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 1 1/2 lb. thinly sliced round steak (1/4-inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onions
  • 3 medium dill pickles, cut in quarters lengthwise
  • 6 medium carrots (about 1 lb.), cut in quarters lengthwise (optional)

    Salt and pepper steak.

    Spread with mustard, sliced bacon, onion and dill pickle.

    Roll up and fasten with nails or toothpicks.

    Then brown in skillet.

    Put in roaster and cover with hot water.

    Bake at 350° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

    Thicken gravy with cornstarch.
