  • 1 to 2 lb. stew meat
  • flour
  • butter
  • Crisco
  • 1 (8 oz.) can pieces and stems mushrooms
  • potatoes
  • carrots
  • turnips
  • celery
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 can beef broth
  • salt, pepper, garlic salt and celery salt to taste

Directions

    Roll stew meat pieces in flour.

    Brown in heavy skillet or Dutch oven in butter and Crisco.

    Add seasonings, onion, broth, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, turnips and celery which has been cut into chunks.

    Stir, then add water if necessary.

    Cover and simmer for at least one hour or until done.
