- 2 lb. beef stew meat
- 1/4 c. flour
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- dash of garlic powder
- 1 c. water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 8 small potatoes (large chunks)
- 4 carrots (large chunks)
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 can mushrooms, sliced
- 1 c. frozen peas
Directions

1Salt and pepper meat to taste; coat with flour, then brown in oil, turning as needed.

2Add bay leaf, onion, garlic powder and water; cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally to keep from sticking.

3Add rest of ingredients including remainder of flour. Cover and continue cooking until vegetables are tender.

4Use heavy stew pan or roaster.
