Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean stew meat
  • 1 can diced carrots or 2 or 3 fresh carrots
  • 1 can whole tomatoes
  • 1 can tiny peas or 1 c. frozen peas
  • 1 can green beans (not French cut) or 1 c. frozen, fresh beans
  • 1/2 can beef consomme
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. prepared bread crumbs
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 c. white wine
  • 3/4 Tbsp. each salt and pepper

    Drain all vegetables except tomatoes.

    Combine all ingredients in Dutch oven pot with cover.

    Bake at 250° for 6 to 7 hours, covered.
