- 2 to 3 lb. stewing beef (cubed)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 3 c. hot water
- 4 potatoes, quartered
- 6 carrots, chunks
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery, 1-inch length
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. cold water
Directions

1Preheat 6 quart Dutch oven for 3 minutes over medium heat. Brown beef cubes on all sides, about 10 minutes.

2Add salt, pepper and bouillon.

3Cover and when vapors escape from cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 45 minutes.

4Increase heat to medium.

5Add potatoes, carrots, onions and celery.

6Cover and when vapor escapes from cover, reduce heat to low.

7Simmer for 45 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender.
