Beef Stew In Beer Recipe

  • 50 gm Butter, unsalted
  • 2 lb Diced topside of beef
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd coriander
  • 4 x Shallots, diced
  • 2 sprg thyme
  • 1 3/4 pt Newcastle brown ale
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

    Fry off the shallots in the butter.

    Add in the beef and brown for 4-5 min.

    Add in the flour and cook.

    Add in the coriander and thyme and mustard.

    Add in the beer and cover the meat.

    Simmer gently for 11/2 hrs approximately.

    Remove the meat and keep hot.

    Strain the sauce and serve.

    Accompany with sweet potato pie.
