Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean stew meat
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup
  • 8 bouillon cubes
  • 1 c. wine (red or white)
  • 1 c. fresh or canned, sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsp. garlic
  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 2 to 3 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 large carton sour cream (fat-free)
  • noodles, cooked

Directions

    In a large pot, brown meat in olive oil.

    Add all ingredients, except sour cream.

    Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

    Check occasionally and add water, if necessary.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in sour cream.

    Serve over cooked noodles.
