  • 2 lbs top round steaks, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 12 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked pepper
  • 3 medium onions
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 12 teaspoon dried basil
  • 12 grated lemon, rind of
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 12 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 12 lb raw mushrooms
  • chopped parsley
  • 4 carrots
  • 4 small potatoes

Directions

    Brown beef lightly in oil.

    Add salt, onions, garlic, basil, lemon peel, and paprika.

    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Sprinkle flour over beef and mix well.

    Add wine, beef stock, carrots, and simmer for 1 hour.

    Add mushrooms and simmer 15 minutes longer or until beef is tender.
