  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cabbage

    Scald milk; stir in salt and sugar.

    Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Stir milk mixture into yeast.

    Add flour and mix well.

    Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth and elastic.

    Place dough in greased bowl; cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
