- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 c. white cornmeal
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 lb. sausage, cooked and drained
Directions

1Grease muffin pans.

2Heat in a 450° oven.

3Combine milk and shortening with egg; mix lightly.

4Stir in cornmeal, baking powder, salt, sugar and sausage; blend well.

5Pour batter into hot greased pans.

6Bake 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.

7Serve with scrambled eggs or syrup.
