- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- dash of salt
- 7 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c. Dixie Crystal granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. sweet butter, melted
Directions

1Cake:

2Whisk together flour, cocoa and salt.

3In top of double boiler, combine eggs, sugar and vanilla.

4Stir over gently simmering water until mixture is slightly warmed.

5Turn into large mixer bowl and beat until thick in volume.

6Fold in flour and butter mixture, a third at a time.

7Pour batter into greased and floured 9 or 10-inch spring-form pan.

8Bake in preheated 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until cake tests done.

9Remove from oven; cool for 10 minutes.

10Loosen and turn onto rack.

11Cool for 2 hours at room temperature.
