Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef, 85% Lean
- 1 whole Egg
- 1 whole Onion, Half Grated And Half Sliced
- 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Pepper
- 6 Tablespoons Butter
- 12 slices Sourdough Bread
- 12 slices American Cheese
Directions

1In a bowl combine beef, egg, grated onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

2Form into 6 thin patties.

3Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

4Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5Cook the burgers about 3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

6Set the patties aside.

7In the same skillet cook the thinly sliced onions until golden brown and tender.

8Set aside.

9On a griddle, place six slices of bread (butter side down), top with a slice of cheese, a burger, some onions, another slice of cheese, and then another piece of bread (butter side up).

10Cook each side of each sandwich until the bread is golden brown.

11Serve.
