  • 1 pound Ground Beef, 85% Lean
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 whole Onion, Half Grated And Half Sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons Pepper
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • 12 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 12 slices American Cheese

Directions

    In a bowl combine beef, egg, grated onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

    Form into 6 thin patties.

    Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    Cook the burgers about 3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

    Set the patties aside.

    In the same skillet cook the thinly sliced onions until golden brown and tender.

    Set aside.

    On a griddle, place six slices of bread (butter side down), top with a slice of cheese, a burger, some onions, another slice of cheese, and then another piece of bread (butter side up).

    Cook each side of each sandwich until the bread is golden brown.
