- 4 beaten eggs
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 5 c. flour
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. melted shortening or oil
- 15 oz. bran flakes
- 5 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Beat eggs and sugar together.

2Add buttermilk and shortening (or oil) and beat.

3Mix all dry ingredients (except bran flakes) and beat.

4Add bran flakes and stir by hand.

5Let stand in covered bowl in refrigerator for 2 days.

6Spoon mixture into muffin tins and bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

7Can keep mix in refrigerator up to 6 weeks.
