- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup firmly packed golden brown sugar
- 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts (about 2 ounces)
- 1/4 cup shelled sunflower seeds
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2Line 9-inch square baking pan with foil, leaving 2-inch overhang.

3Melt butter, sugar and syrup in heavy medium saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

4Mix in oats, nuts and sunflower seeds.

5Transfer mixture to prepared pan.

6Press down firmly to form even layer.

7Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes.

8Transfer to rack and cool.

9Using foil sides as aid, lift cookie out of pan.

10Carefully cut into squares.
