Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon anise flavoring
  • 1 c. slivered almonds

Directions

    Cream together butter and sugar.

    Add in Large eggs one at a time, blending well.

    Add in rest of ingredients.

    Turn onto a lightly floured board and knead till smooth.

    Divide dough in half and form into 2 rolls, the length of a cookie sheet and about 1 1/2 inch thick.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min or possibly till hard to touch.

    Slice each roll crosswise into 1/2 inch slices.

    Place back on cookie sheet and bake 10 min longer on each side till lightly browned.
