  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon anise seeds
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup almonds or walnuts, chopped

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Blend oil and sugar; adding eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture; 1/2 of flour mixture at a time.

    Shape into two flat, long loaves.

    Bake on parchment paper for 18 minutes.

    Slice loaves on the diagonal, bake cookies on their side for 15 minutes; flip cookies to the other side and bake for another 15 minutes.
