- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 5 Tbsp. shortening
- milk
- buttermilk (enough to make stiff dough)
Directions

1Sift flour into bowl.

2Add shortening.

3Take 2 knives and cut shortening into dry flour.

4It will look very lumpy.

5Add buttermilk, a very little at a time, until you have a fairly stiff dough.

6Sift flour onto wax paper or dough board.

7Pour dough out of bowl onto floured wax paper.

8Knead dough by turning over and punching dough down each time.

9Work like this until you can roll dough out with dough roller.

10Cut into biscuits with biscuit cutter.

11Place in Pam sprayed pan.

12Cook at 450° until brown.
