  • 1lb black beans (soak overnight - drain)
  • 4 Cup chicken broth
  • 1 green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 ham hock
  • 1 chop onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 3 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 1/2 tsp chile powder
  • 2 bag leaves

    Simmer for 2 hrs. Remove ham from bones and stir back in beans. Add 2T red wine vinegar & serve over rice.
