- 1/2 lb. cream cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 6 oz. chocolate bits
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2/3 c. salad oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine cream cheese, egg, sugar and salt; mix by hand.

2Stir in chocolate bits; set aside.

3Preheat oven to 350°.

4Sift flour, cocoa, sugar, soda and salt.

5Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla, beating well.

6Mixture will appear unmixable at first.

7Keep beating.

8Use muffin tins and paper liners, filling 1/2 to 3/4 full with dark mixture (flour and cocoa).

9Drop one tablespoon of cheese mixture on top of each one.

10Bake about 20 minutes.

11These freeze well.
