  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. mixed raisins and walnuts

    Beat egg whites and yolks separately, then beat together.

    Add brown sugar and beat.

    Add sifted dry ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Stir in raisins and nuts.

    Add additional flour, if needed.

    Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 375° for 5 to 7 minutes.
