- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. ground black walnuts
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add egg yolks one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

3Sift dry ingredients together.

4Add alternately with milk and vanilla, beating after each addition.

5Fold in nuts, then stiffly beaten egg whites.

6Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.

7Bake at 350° for 60 minutes or until done.

8Remove from pan to wire rack and drizzle glaze over hot cake.
