- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. butter
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. black walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sweet milk
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time.

3Mix together dry ingredients.

4Add to creamed mixture alternating with the milk.

5Add flavoring and nuts. Batter will be very stiff.

6Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

7Don't peek while cooking.
